Apple AI and Nostalgia
Some of us remember where we were when Steve Jobs presented the iPhone back on June 29, 2007. A phone. A music player. An internet device. That’s how he sold it, much like he sold the iPod as a thousand songs in your pocket. I always find it fascinating to look back on certain economic elements that change the landscape of financial matters, companies and our behaviors.
The iPhone is one of these seismic events.
Apple launched its AI on the iPhone which is a long way from the 2g version of the original iPhone - this is why I was thinking about this subject this week. CNN had a good article about the launch. You can read that here but it's not the primary focus of my thoughts.

One of the best things to look at is a Vox article about the 10-year anniversary and 10 charts about how the iPhone changed the world from 2017.
The iPhone was the fastest globally adopted product ever invented and has not been surpassed to this point. AI might be next and so the combo of iPhone and AI might be the future. Could be revolutionary? Could be the beginning of a Terminator movie in real life?
We never know when these types of things will come but they make changes to our lives and our economy in ways we can never quite understand. Steve Balmer, former CEO of Microsoft famously laughed at the idea of spending $500 on the iPhone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eywi0h_Y5_U
As always, if you come across a financially related article you’d like to send my way please do!
Best place to send them is to me.
More next time!
